Essence of Costa Rica in Real Estate
Relax, heal and rejuvenate in the Costa Rican Rainforest. We are a working farm producing medicinal teas, cacao, organic herbs, spices and growing food.
While our retreat house is designed for a more reflective, peaceful inner experience of nature, birds and flora and fauna there is much to do and learn on our working farm. For longer retreats, there are many day excursions available for those who would like to hike, swim or horseback ride. Nearby is one of Costa Rica's best kept secrets, it's national park La Cangrega. Hiking this mountain is a spiritual experience as well as a physical one. There are also natural pools made from majestic waterfalls less than 3 km from the center. There are many "off the beaten path" things to do yet the beautiful Pacific Ocean is only 25 minutes away.
The economy of Parrita is mainly based on the agricultural production of the African oil palm for exportation, pineapple, banana tree, melon, watermelon and rice, thanks to the short but mighty Parrita river, which crosses this coastal valley and sweeps along the sediments that improve the quality of the surrounding lands.
Tourism also takes an important role in the economy of Parrita, being one of the cantons with highest growth in Costa Rica because of new tourist projects, hotel areas and sublime beaches like Esterillos Beach, a crossing point towards Manuel Antonio beaches and other beaches of Quepos, its neighboring canton.
Esterillos Beach is located in Parrita, in the province of Puntarenas, in the shore of the Central Pacific of Costa Rica, between Bejuco Beach and Hermosa Beach.
Quepos canton is one of the three cantons of the shore of the Central Pacific of Costa Rica, located in the Puntarenas province, in the middle of other two cantons in the coastline: it borders with the Osa canton in the south and with that of Parrita in the north.
Quepos city is one of the most impressive tropical cities in Costa Rica thanks to the high and rigorous protection of its flora and fauna. This makes this city an attractive tourist destination full of autochthonous vegetation and extraordinary animal species that are currently endangered.
The Manuel Antonio National Park is the example, par excellence, of a natural preservation area: it has spectacular landscapes of great terrestrial and marine biodiversity that make of this one of the most famous and incredible places in Costa Rica and worldwide. It also has many paths and resting areas recently incorporated that allow the entry to Punta Catedral, the waterfall, the viewpoint, Espadilla Beach and Manuel Antonio Beach, amongst many other points of interest, making of this visit a unique and essential experience.
Apart from sport fishing in Costa Rica, you can do many fun activities in the Quepos canton, like going to the impressive canopy of the city -a spectacular and huge zip-line that crosses its tropical forests-. However, there are lots of other things to do, such as rappel, safaris, rafting and boat tours, which will allow you to enjoy the incomparable landscapes of the city.
